Instagram has decided to leave the square photos, something that pleased all users of the application!
After the upgrade that will take soon the Android users and iOS (version 7.5), you could upload photos in landscape dimensions, either horizontally or vertically.
Instagram made this change for the convenience of users, with photos that pull from their mobile. So, they can share them just as they have taken them, maintaining shape and orientation without cuts.
In addition, it was announced that one out of five photos, that are uploaded, they are not square.
This change will have the same impact on videos, as in pictures.
